Message to Participants:

As you move through the stages of the 4P methodology, you’ll sharpen your decision-making and problem-solving skills. Every failure in the Practice stage brings you closer to mastery. By the time you reach Perform, survival skills will be part of who you are, ready to be used whenever and wherever needed.

1. Prepare (P1)

Definition: The foundation of any survival skill. This involves gathering the necessary knowledge, equipment, and mental mindset. It's about learning the basics and understanding the key concepts for any given skill set.

Simplistic Terms: Learn the basics.

Key Activities:

Researching survival tactics

Understanding tools and equipment

Mental preparation for challenges

Gaining familiarity with concepts before trying them

2. Practice (P2)

Definition: Hands-on repetition of skills. In this stage, participants actively engage in tasks, learning by doing, and identifying their mistakes to improve.

Simplistic Terms: Try and learn from mistakes.
Key Activities:
- Practicing the learned skills in controlled environments
- Failing, assessing errors, and adjusting methods
- Building muscle memory through repetition
- Testing different approaches to master the skill

3. Progress (P3)

Definition: Continuous improvement and mastery. At this stage, participants test their skills repeatedly until performing them becomes automatic and intuitive.

Simplistic Terms: Test until it’s second nature.
Key Activities:
- Simulating real-world scenarios to challenge skills
- Sharpening techniques through drills
- Performing under pressure to ensure readiness
- Becoming more proficient with less conscious effort

4. Perform (P4)

Definition: Demonstrating mastery of skills in front of peers and in real-world scenarios. This final stage is about confidently executing the skills when it counts the most.

Key Activities:
- Applying survival skills in practical or high-stakes environments
- Leading or demonstrating to peers under observation
- Adapting to unpredictable conditions
- Using skills in real-world survival situations

Survival Skills Development Ranking System

P1 (Novice)

The participant has completed the Prepare stage, understanding key concepts but has not yet attempted to execute them.

P2 (Beginner)

The participant has moved to the Practice stage, actively engaging with tasks but still learning through failure and refinement.

P3 (Intermediate)

At this stage, the participant has shown consistent progress and can reliably perform the skills with minimal error.

P4 (Expert)

The participant can confidently perform the skills in real-world situations or in front of others, demonstrating mastery.
